Highlights from the Open Source in Finance Forum London 2024

On June 26th we successfully hosted our annual Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF) in London at the Park Plaza, Westminister. With nearly 600 participants, this event marked our largest event in the UK yet. 2024 OSFF London - Highlights

State of Open Source in Financial Services Survey 

During his keynote, Gabriele Columbro, FINOS Executive Director discussed insights from the State of Open Source in Financial Services survey. The survey has now closed, so stay tuned for the 2024 report. The 2023 report is available for download here.

Major Announcements

OS-Climate Merger: We’ve merged with OS-Climate to enhance our commitment to open source climate sustainability and ESG. Read more here.

New Members: We welcomed seven new members to the FINOS ecosystem: DTCC, FactSet, Intel, JSCC, AWS, Provectus, and TestifySec with upgrading their FINOS membership tier to Gold. Learn more here.

Day of Content

Table Top Exercise: A members-only, cloud native incident response exercise authored and delivered by FINOS Member ControlPlane, took place during OSFF London. The main takeaway was that there is a need for improved readiness in cloud environments compared to traditional on-premises solutions. Stay tuned for additional takeaways and the panel recording featuring ControlPlane's Francesco Beltramini, Ash Ward and Quadrature's Laura Penhallow.

AI Strategic Initiative Workshops: Held at Red Hat's London office, workshops focused on AI project goals and AI Governance Documentation progress. Community Engagement

Award Winners: The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing significant contributions to open source in financial services. Kudos to Natwest, Goldman Sachs, ISDA, turntbl, Citi, and more. Find the list of winners here.

Networking Event: Hosted by turntabl, the networking social event kickstarted the week, fostering connections within the community. Thanks to FINOS ambassador, Mike Minett and Growth Partner at turntabl for organizing. Contact a FINOS ambassador if you want to arrange a future FINOS meetup.
