Today is #GivingTuesday, a day when we turn our attention away for a moment from holiday shopping for family and friends and tune into important causes within our communities and around the world.
Perhaps the most important ingredient that makes open source projects successful is diverse and vibrant developer communities. To create thriving open source communities for the long term, we must support efforts to expand computer science education, especially amongst communities that have traditionally been underrepresented in both technology and financial services.

Glue42, the company bringing an entirely new desktop experience to capital markets, retail banks, and insurance firms, announced today that developers can now acquire and deploy individual Glue42 services to augment their existing interop frameworks or containers. This new capability was largely made possible because of the emergence of platform agnostic standards, especially the Financial Desktop Connectivity and Collaboration Consortium (FDC3), a program of the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS).

Symphony hosted its first Developer Meetup at Google New York on 5/16. More than 50 attendees enjoyed sessions on Machine Learning and building intelligent bots inside their firm using Symphony's API Clients and Development tools.
