Running an Open Source Project at Scale

Download Slides

Facebook has over 450 public open source projects in its portfolio. With a relatively small open source program office (OSPO), we have worked to make sure we have a clear set of processes, procedures and tools to both help our developers successfully launch and cultivate their own projects, but also help our OSPO manage the entirety of the program itself, from ensuring compliance to managing key metrics and statistics.

This talk showcases those processes and tools we use to help us run an open source program at scale, and we hope to both provide useful ideas for other OSPOs as well as start a conversation around other best practices to run an OSPO, whether big or small.
