The Fintech Open Source Foundation continues to expand support across all constituents and geographies with increased buy-side, cloud and financial technology representation

New York, NY – May 31 – The Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS), the financial services umbrella of the Linux Foundation, announced today the addition of six new corporate members, including Google Cloud, Société Générale, American Express, Point72, Mirantis, and The Digital Dollar Project. Building upon its 19 new Members in 2021 and its recent addition of Wellington Management Company to its Governing Board, FINOS now has 57 corporate members ushering a new era in open collaboration across the global financial services industry. 

Industry experts will gather to discuss the most cutting edge topics at the cross section of finance, open source and technology, revealing recent developments and the direction of open source in financial services.

Key executives to discuss the state of open source initiatives at KubeCon Europe this week

VALENCIA, Spain, May 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Linux Foundation, a global nonprofit organization enabling mass innovation through open source, today launches the World of Open Source research series with its initial focus on the European community. The initiative will be championed by LF Research in collaboration with several European distribution and research partners. Furthermore, key executives of the Linux Foundation and partners will be speaking at KubeCon in Valencia, Spain this week as they kickstart the research series and meet with the extended open source and cloud native communities.

Madeleine Dassule, Co-Head, Technology at Wellington Management joins Board of Directors

New York, NY – May 3, 2022 – The Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) today announced Wellington Management (Wellington), one of the world’s largest independent investment management firms, as its newest Platinum member. In addition, Wellington’s Co-Head, Technology, Madeleine Dassule will join the FINOS board of directors. Registration opens for FINOS’ Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF) London, taking place alongside partner event Fintech Week London

Their annual event, Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF), will take place in London on 13 July, during Fintech Week London, which will run from 11 - 14 July.

SAN FRANCISCO, February 3, 2022 --  FINOS, the Fintech Open Source Foundation and financial sector project of The Linux Foundation, and The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization enabling mass innovation through open source, today announced the name change of its event dedicated to driving collaboration and innovation in financial services through open source software and standards from Open Source Strategy Forum to the Open Source in Finance Forum. The event started in 2017 under the auspices of FINOS prior to it joining the Linux Foundation in 2020 and has since then grown to become the flagship event for the fast growing open source movement in financial services and its unique challenges. The name is being changed to better reflect the focus of the event within the larger landscape of open source events produced by The Linux Foundation and its projects.

New York, NY -- January 20, 2022 -- FINOS, the Fintech Open Source Foundation and financial sector project of the Linux Foundation, today announced its 2021 annual results showing unprecedented growth throughout the year. Led by the more than 1,200 contributors working on FINOS projects and a 34 percent increase in new corporate members, FINOS had their largest yearly growth on record. In total, FINOS now has 53 members leveraging its open source collaboration forum, including the most recent additions of Bank of Montreal (BMO), Fannie Mae and NatWest Markets in addition to 16 more fintech and financial services organizations this past year.
