FINANCIAL OBJECTS OVERVIEW

This program will drive adoption of new and existing Financial Objects Standards that support common industry workflows and use cases. It brings together creators and users of financial objects to reduce integration and transaction costs; simplify inter-organization boundaries; and improve data usage and analysis.

BUSINESS FOCUS

Create a library of widely accepted, common financial object definitions accessible to financial services professionals across a broad range of firms to lower integration and transaction costs and enable the mutualization of commodity software. The goal is to leverage what already exists improving time to market and uptake.

SAMPLE USE CASES

Use cases will be far-reaching, for example:
  • Common trade objects seamlessly shared between buy-side, sell-side, technology vendors, CCPs, etc.
  • Fundamental trade object with extensibility for a variety of life-cycle events e.g. pricing, expiry, allocations, confirmation, settlement, etc.

FOCUS AREAS

  • Initial focus on Rates products before expanding to other asset classes
  • Active discussions on key financial object types: Trade Object, RFQ Object, and Order Data Object
  • Focus on full trade life-cycle workflows
  • Actively looking for contributors from buy-side and other workflow constituents
