As we enter Q4, the FINOS community is working flat out to deliver on existing projects, propose new projects and promote collaboration between projects. From recent conversations at Boston Fintech Week to ongoing discussions around OSERA (Open Source Enterprise Resiliency Alliance), one theme is clear: open source is not just about code - it is essential to how financial institutions approach AI, data, security and enterprise risk.
We’re seeing this shift play out in the growing focus on AI governance, software supply chain resilience, shared standards and the infrastructure needed to move AI agents into trusted, production-ready workflows.
With OSFF New York just around the corner, and major work continuing across OSERA, the Common Domain Model (CDM), Fluxnova, CALM, FDC3, and so many more, Q4 is about using that momentum to deliver valuable solutions.
Let’s dive into what’s happening across FINOS to close out 2026.
1. OSFF New York 2026 Schedule & Keynotes
The countdown to OSFF New York is on. Hands-on workshops kick-off the week on November 3, followed by the main event taking place November 4-5. This year's program features 70+ sessions led by engineering and strategy leaders from across the financial services and technology ecosystem, including Fidelity, Citi, Morgan Stanley, RBC, TD Bank, Red Hat and many more.
Here’s a first look at some of the keynote speakers joining us in New York. Stay tuned as we announce more speakers in the coming weeks.
With attendance capped at 800 per day, and member allocations already filling up, now is the time to secure your space!

2. Fluxnova Con Comes to OSFF New York
Fluxnova Con makes its debut in New York on November 4th during Day 1 of OSFF, with three tracks exploring financial orchestration and multi-agent systems. The program will bring together the growing Fluxnova community (and those interested in learning more) to explore workflow orchestration, enterprise adoption, integration with other open source projects, and Fluxnova’s continued development. Day 1 also features two tracks with talks on Enterprise AI Governance, SDLC controls, FINOS CALM, and more, ensuring there is something to interest everyone.

3. OSERA is Operational: Global Banks Back Open Remediation Standards & Security Patches
OSERA is live and delivering! Backed by Premier members including Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, NatWest, and RBC, the initiative addresses duplicated patching spend by establishing a single, bank-governed pipeline. In its first wave of delivery, OSERA released an open framework for remediation attestations alongside secure package updates across 50+ Spring and Java libraries commonly used by the industry.

5. Join Chainguard for Our Next OS in Finance Webinar
Join FINOS and Chainguard for our next OS in Finance webinar on October 28. The session will explore the changing security landscape for open source software and what this means for financial services organizations navigating increasingly complex software supply chains. Don't miss the opportunity to hear from experts working at the intersection of open source, security and financial services.
The FINOS ecosystem continues to expand, and we are excited to welcome our newest Silver members who are driving innovation across software supply chain security, cloud-native infrastructure, and enterprise resiliency.
Docker: Providing containerization tools and services that help developers build, share, secure, and run applications across environments.
HeroDevs: Supporting enterprise use of end-of-life open source software through Never-Ending Support, security patching, and vulnerability remediation.
Mirantis: Providing enterprise Kubernetes, platform engineering, and open source cloud infrastructure for deploying and managing applications at scale.
RapidFort: Helping organizations secure cloud-native workloads through container hardening, vulnerability remediation, and software attack surface reduction.
We’re also pleased to welcome our new Associate Members: Newton Foundation, Western New England University, and Enterprise Ethereum Alliance.
Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) - New Members & New Openings
The TOC plays a critical role in guiding the technical direction of FINOS, supporting project health, and helping oversee our growing portfolio of projects.

CDM 7.0: Recent Blog Details the Major Evolution: CDM 7 is one of the most significant releases in the evolution of the Common Domain Model. It expands the range of financial products, agreements, lifecycle events and business processes that can be represented, while introducing major improvements to ingestion, modeling, validation, tooling, serialization and language support. A recent blog breaks down the changes in a comprehensive but digestible way, helping users understand what’s new and what it means for adoption and integration.
CDM: New Training Course for Java Developers: Turn the FINOS Common Domain Model specification into working code. Linux Foundation Education and TradeHeader have launched a hands-on, one-day course connecting CDM, FpML, and Java. Developers gain hands-on experience building post-trade lifecycle projects, from ingesting FpML data to executing complex state transitions. The course is designed for Java developers, integration engineers, and technical business analysts working with post-trade lifecycles, regulatory reporting, or CDM.

Fluxnova Ecosystem: Community Collaboration in Action: iTmethods and Summit58 are partnering to expand enterprise deployment and operational options for Fluxnova, combining process design expertise with managed platform capabilities for agentic workflows. The collaboration is a great example of the broader Fluxnova ecosystem building on a shared open source foundation to deliver practical solutions for regulated enterprises.

New Report: AI and Open Source in Finance: FINOS and Linux Foundation Research jointly published a new report looking at how financial services firms can deploy AI safely and effectively at scale. Based on discussions with around 50 industry leaders, it explores priorities including AI governance, cybersecurity, cost management (tokenomics), and the role of open standards in supporting secure, interoperable AI.
The Next Phase of FINOS AI: From Principles to Executable Governance: FINOS is moving its AI work from frameworks and principles toward executable, observable governance. A new blog outlines how the AI Fund, AI Governance Framework, CALM, Common Cloud Controls, and Fluxnova are coming together to create a Governance-as-Code pipeline for financial services, and how the community can help shape what comes next.
