Friday Update Newsletter - 7 May 21

May 07, 2021

7 May 21

Happy Friday! In this issue we're excited to welcome a new FINOS team member and a new FINOS Silver Member; tell you about some new project ideas; share highlights from our recent All Community call, spotlight our community contributors; and highlight ways to get involved.

We are thrilled to welcome Jane Gavronsky to the team as our new Chief Technology Officer. Jane brings a wealth of financial services and technology experience, including most recently, from her role as the Global Head of Reference Data Technology Services at Credit Suisse. With previous roles spanning risk, data, compliance, derivatives, architecture, and more, we know that she will be a valuable addition to our team and community. Stay tuned for more info, check out her bio on our website, and email her at to introduce yourself.

We are delighted to share that Databricks recently joined as a FINOS Silver Member! Databricks' Lakehouse platform combines the best of data warehouses and data lakes to offer an open and unified platform for data and AI. With roots in open source (the company was founded by the original creators of the open source projects Apache Spark, Delta Lake and MLflow) we are looking forward to exploring collaborative use cases that will bring value to our financial services community.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last week for our All Community Call helping us achieve record attendance! It was great to hear from Gab, James and leads from 11 FINOS projects, standards and SIGs about their work and how to get involved. Check out the recap for a more thorough overview or watch the replay.
