FINOS FRIDAY UPDATE NEWSLETTER

17 JULY 20

We hope you are all staying safe (and sane) during these times.

Read below to keep up to date with the many activities happening at FINOS.

WALTZ UPDATE

We're very pleased to share that Waltz is now an "active" project. To reach this lifecycle status, projects must meet a number of rigorous criteria, which Waltz did in a single quarter. Check out the numerous screencasts that can help you get started using this production quality software. Congratulations to the Waltz team and all contributors!

NEW FINOS GOVERNANCE

We've simplified our governance to better cater for the needs of our Projects, Standards and Special Interest Groups. We believe these changes provide the necessary controls with minimal governance overhead, enabling our community to focus on producing great open source code and standards. Today is the last day to add your feedback on this pull request or feel free to just check out the clean copy.

OPEn SOURCE INTERNAL TRAINING: SPEAKER REQUEST

During our August 5th Open Source Readiness (OSR) call, we'll be hearing from panelists on how to prepare and deliver valuable open source training for your employees. What content should be included? Should there be a test? Does this count towards training requirements? The panel will cover these and many other topics. And we still have one spot left on the panel so email us if you want to be included. More info on OSR here.

OPEN SOURCE STRATEGY FORUM (OSSF) 2020 - virtual

This year OSSF is going virtual. (That's probably not a surprise.) We are finalizing November dates so be on the lookout for an announcement. Call for Speakers and Sponsors will also open soon.
