Shift from Diagrams to Code: Master the Common Architecture Language Model
Traditional, document-driven architecture governance can no longer keep up with modern engineering velocities.
Join us for an immersive, deeply practical workshop dedicated entirely to the Common Architecture Language Model (CALM)—one of the fastest-growing projects in FINOS history. This session is designed to get you hands-on with the core tools, schemas, and syntax of CALM. You will learn how to transition from static, stale architecture diagrams to live, machine-readable Architecture as Code (AaC) that can be versioned, validated, and integrated directly into software delivery lifecycles.
This is a pure hands-on session where participants will spend the afternoon writing code, running validations, and interacting with framework tooling. Moving away from manual design reviews, this workshop provides the practical skills needed to implement automated guardrails for infrastructure and service deployment.
A Note for Cloud & AI Governance Practitioners: > While the core mission of this workshop is foundational CALM mastery, understanding CALM is highly relevant for those working across the broader FINOS ecosystem. CALM serves as a cornerstone for the FINOS AI Initiative, integrating the AI Governance Framework, Common Cloud Controls (CCC), and CALM into a unified "Governance as Code" pipeline.
This workshop is built primarily for Enterprise Architects and technical leaders looking to modernize how their organizations define and govern system design. It is also highly valuable for:
