Thank you to everyone who joined us at OSFF in NYC - this was our largest one yet!  Here are some of the highlights:

Contribution in Regulated Industries

**Phil Holleran** (GitHub), **Cara Delia** (RedHat) and **Kay Xiong Pachay** (Goldman Sachs) ran a panel with me about contributions in regulated industries. They shared their insights working across a diverse set of firms with a keen crowd who asked lots of good Open Source Readiness-specific questions.

Body of Knowledge Milestones!

When we started the body of knowledge back in January, it seemed like a daunting task to document the best practices of open source in finance. And, it got even more daunting as we kept uncovering new projects that needed talking about. However, in a post-OSFF breakout session organised by Morgan Stanley, we got together and figured out what was left to do.

In terms of articles, we still need a first draft to fulfill, [this GitHub milestone](https://github.com/finos/open-source-readiness/milestone/1). Luckily in today’s OSR SIG meeting (see the [FINOS Calendar](https://calendar.finos.org/) for details), we found volunteers for many of these - people who were willing to go and write their thoughts down on a given topic and bring it back to the SIG for further discussion.

Secondly, we discussed trying to edit and improve the state of the material: it’s currently quite hard to navigate. This forms the [second GitHub milestone](https://github.com/finos/open-source-readiness/milestone/2). If you have expertise in information architecture or editing websites then we’d love a consultation with you to find out how we can improve the “user experience” of the Body of Knowledge.
